The Warfield House Bed and Breakfast, located in Elkins, West Virginia, was built in 1901 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Once featured in Victorian Homes Magazine, it treats you to spectacular woodwork, a large stained glass window, a massive terra-cotta fireplace and many original light fixtures. This gracious old home has been carefully restored with turn-of-the-century reproduction carpets and wallpaper, oriental carpets and many antiques. Most of all, you will enjoy the turn of the century ambiance.
Centrally located, the Warfield House sits on the corner of the Elkins City Park and across the street from the entrance to Davis and Elkins College. Davis and Elkins is home to the Augusta Heritage Festival, and many of the activities during the Mountain State Forest Festival. You can easily walk to restaurants, shops, the Randolph County Cultural Center, the American Mountain Theater, and the Saturday Farmers Market located next to the Historic Elkins Railroad Depot, departure point for the New Tygart Flyer scenic railroad ride.
Or perhaps you’d rather sit on the 70 foot long wraparound porch, relax, and enjoy the large yard and garden. You might also listen to the many local or visiting musicians who come out to play during ‘Pick’n in the Park’ on Wednesday nights. If you are coming for outdoor activities, Elkins is close to much of what West Virginia has to offer. This includes many State and National Parks, bicycling, motorcycling, kayaking, hiking, camping, tubing and horseback riding, to name a few.
